Pre-Configure a Polycom IP 430

If deploying on a Gazelle Managed Network...

This is where our router acts as default GW and DHCP Server for the phones

Note for Gazelle Technicians: DHCP Pool must be configured with option 66 ip 216.81.55.12(or whatever appropriate) and option 42 ip 174.137.63.116 192.99.10.37

 

  • Connect the phone to a wall jack (should connect to our PoE switch)
  • Press the setup button within 6 seconds, enter the password 456 and press OK
  • Make sure the following settings are configured:
    • DHCP Client: Enabled
    • DHCP Menu:
      • Boot Server: Custom+Option 66
      • BootSrv Opt: 150
      • BootSrv Type: IP Address
      • VLAN Disc: Disabled
    • Server Menu:
      • Server Type: Trivial TFTP
      • Server Address: (should be blank)
      • Server User: should be blank
      • Server Password: should be blank
  • Press Exit, then Press Save&Reboot
  • Assuming that the User Profile has been configured and associated with the MAC Address of your phone on the Gazelle System, the phone should boot within approx 1-5 minutes.

 

 

If deploying off-net...

This is where the customer deploys the phone on their network, i.e. at a home office or remote branch office.

  • Connect the phone to a power supply.
  • Press the setup button within 6 seconds, enter the password 456 and press OK
  • Make sure the following settings are configured:
    • Main Menu:
      • SNTP Address: 192.99.10.37
      • GMT Off-Set: -5
    • DHCP Client: Enabled
    • DHCP Menu:
      • Boot Server: Static
      • BootSrv Type: IP Address
      • VLAN Disc: Disabled
    • Server Menu:
      • Server Type: Trivial TFTP
      • Server Address: 216.81.55.12 (or as instructed by Gazelle Support)
      • Server User: should be blank
      • Server Password: should be blank
  • Press Exit, then Press Save&Reboot
